Consequently, there is a sense that Native Americans are stuck in a mode of self-pitying victimhood, which they continue to try to exploit for various reasons. However, there are many ways that the injustices of the past are still realities for today’s native people, making history still relevant today (2017). With sense that through the change of laws, policies and acts that recognize the Native American we can justify that the laws continue to work against the race. The relationship between the government and the Native American has always been a sharped and untrustworthy one considering 800 treaties between both and the government’s refusal to assist the race by ratifying 400 other ones in terms of assistance.
